About ECS
Our 1st school year, 2009-10, was a great success. We are anticipating the 2010-11 school year; it will be here before we know it. The Lord's plans always exceed our expectations.
Pastor Goodwin had previously started 2 Christian schools; the 1st Calvary Temple Christian Academy in Balch Springs, TX, and the 2nd Faith Christian Academy in Vidor, TX. He knew how much work, dedication, and sacrifice it would take to make a Christian school a success; therefore, it was not on a whelm he decided to consider a Christian school ministry. Pastor Goodwin, after much prayer, decided to bring the idea of starting a Christian school before the Board of Deacons of Beech Creek Assembly of God; the board unanimously felt the need for this ministry. The idea was then presented to the church body. By an overwhelming majority Beech Creek Assembly of God decided to start Eastside Christian School (ECS). The Lord is faithful to make His will known to His people; His way is always the best way.
We are anxious and excited to see what the Lord is going to do with the precious students He has entrusted into our hands. Our desire is to raise up intelligent, confident, Christian young people that will go out into the world and make a difference for Christ. We believe they will excel in every way: academically, socially, and spiritually. One of our goals is to help them know they are valuable to the purpose and plan of God. We expect great things from each of them.
We are not a reform school. It is a priority for our students to have Christian homes. What is the purpose of sending a child to a Christian school and then taking the child home and contradicting everything that is taught? All students are admitted on a probational basis; the probation is not only regarding the student but also the parents. Attending ECS is a privilege not a right.
We have limited enrollment and do not have openings in every grade level. If you are considering enrolling your student, call the office to find out if we have an opening in the grade level of your student. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, color, or sex. ECS does not have the necessary facilities to accommodate some disabilities; therefore, we are not able to provide a proper learning environment for some disabled or special needs students.
